“Back feed” means that you feed electricity into your home without preventing it from also feeding back into the supply network….

Sometimes people feed the portable generator cable into an outlet to backdrive the electrical panel. This is extremely dangerous to do and should never be done. There is high risk of causing a fire or killing someone, including a line worker.
