Build your own wind generator. Very affordable very efficient. This system provides a marvelous opportunity for self employment. Check out the Green Employment Channel at lifeandlove.tv Alternative energy can be created by individuals. In these times of massive job losses ideas like these could pay your mortgage.

Is it more efficient than standard wind generators? This is a standard wind generator.

This is Iowa right? Isn’t there enough hot air in this state at the moment to generate power for the entire country?

Excellent stuff. I made my wind turbine using an old Bendix D.C generator from a Sunderland flying boat which I use to charge a large bank of recycled car batteries, the total cost including batteries was just over 500 gbp as I done all the work myself.

@JaxxBat You don’t understand. Slow spinning, high torque shaft from blades goes into a gearbox, which then goes to a low torque, high speed shaft. Otherwise I wouldn’t get very many volts out of it due to the low speed.
Plus the top of the structure wouldn’t be able to house the design I want, while the base would.

@Kriegsarschmann , Its better to make a larger or multi plate coil setup for a larger windmill, and have it run direct..

I plan to, one day, make a wind turbine in the look and style of an old Dutch windmill. Obviously the propeller shaft will spin rather slowly, but that’s why gearboxes were invented.
I’ve always found wind turbines to look ugly as hell, but those old windmills? They’re awesome, you’d never know I had wind power unless you went inside.

@makeSOLARPANELS have you maid a video about it? I’m interested to find out a home maid complete solution to produce clean energy.

Good job. Watching and almost ready to do. But don’t have any tools and materials.

I attempted to make a wind generator out of an old air conditioner fan unit but I don’t seem to be getting any electricity. I attached 8 magnets in 4 rows around the outermost circumference of the rotor part of the motor, but even when I tested it with my stepdad’s 150 mph leaf blower, it did not produce any electricity. I wonder, does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

thanks

Coils wihout iron core and without magnetic flux yoke are inefficient. 150 years ago they already knew that.

… You know.. I find all of this info, and I know how to build a windmill using everyday things around the house, magnets, I could even build a solar panel right now if I had the material.. What I do NOT understand… How do you get the energy TO your house, fuse box or the dang meter.. copper wiring takes it in, but how do I get it from the copper wiring to my fuse box!!!
